Safaris / Treks & Hikes in Horton Plains

Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest. It is Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau discovered by Sir Thomas Farr in 19th hundreds. It’s named as Horton Plains in honour of the then British Governor of Sri Lanka Sir Horton. Horton Plains has some of the world’s most beautiful hiking nature tracks.

The sheer precipice of World’s End and Baker’s fall are among the tourist attractions of the park. Unless you get there early, the view from World’s End is often obscured by mist, particularly during the rainy season from April to September.
