Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Sri Lanka

You will be welcomed by our representative who will take you to a hotel in Negombo where you can relax rest of the day.

Day 2: Visiting the famous Sigiriya Rock

After breakfast you will start your journey towards Sigiriya.  Once you arrive in Sigiriya you can freshen up before visiting the famous Sigiriya Rock, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, a 370-meter granite rock with a magnificent palace that was built around 475 AD. Once you reach the plateau you are faced with breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

Day 3: Exploring Polonnaruwa & Minneriya National Park

After breakfast you will travel to one of Sri Lanka’s ancient cities: Polonnaruwa. It was the second capital of Sri Lanka. During your visit, you will see the Gal Vihara Rock Sculptures and the three giant stones sculptures of the Buddha that were  carved in granite by an unknown sculptor in the 12th century. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

After lunch you will go on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park where you will see its large herds of elephants. Make sure to take your camera with you because it is a sight you do not want to miss. After a day of culture and wildlife, you will head back to the hotel.

Day 4: The Last Ancient Capital

Today you will be heading to the last ancient capital of Sri Lanka: Kandy. On the way you will stop at Dambulla Cave Temple which is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the most famous cave complex of magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colours and shapes

After arriving in Kandy, you can stop at a tea house and try a delicious cup of tea before visiting the renowned Kandy Temple where the tooth relic of the Buddha lies. Lastly you will be taken to enjoy the lively sounds of the traditional Kandyan dance performance.

Day 5: Hill Country: Nuwara Eliya & Ella

After breakfast you will be travelling to Nuwara Eliya also known as the ‘Little England’. After arriving in Nuwara Eliya, you will visit a tea factory where you will learn a little bit about how our famous cup of tea is created.

Afterwards get on board the train heading to Ella. It is famous among many as one of the most scenic train rides in the world.

Once you reach Ella, you can relax for the day.

Day 6: Exploring Ella

Today will be an early start as you will be going on hike in Little Adam’s Peak.  Once you reach the top it will definitely be worth as you will be presented with breathtaking views of an endless valley, tea plantations and waterfalls.

The last stop for today will be at the famous 9 arches bridge, which is one of the most iconic bridges in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankans also call this bridge “Ahas namaye palama” (Nine skies bridge) because of its height.

Day 7: Into the wild: Yala National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, travel to Yala National Park, the best known and most visited park of Sri Lanka.

On the way you will stop by Ravana falls to experience its beauty.

As you travel towards south, you will experience the change of scenery where the lush tropical greenery of hill country gives way to the much dryer and arid landscape of the dry zone.

Day 8: A day in Yala National Park

Today will be an early start. The jeep safari through Yala national park will take place early morning with the possibility to see elephants, leopards, sloth bears, the most exotic inhabitants of the park, will be found coming to the watering holes.

Day 9-12: Ocean breeze and mind at ease

Today you will head to your beach hotel where you can lay back and enjoy the beach. You can spend the days at your own pace and leisure and unwind by the beautiful coast of the Indian Ocean.

Day 13: It’s never a goodbye

Today is your last day in this beautiful little island. At an arranged time, you will be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
